Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Bethesda Game Studios announced Starfield has gone gold, and preloading for the game is imminent.

The news that Starfield went gold means it has reached gold master status, meaning the game’s development and code is finalized and ready for distribution.

Now that code on the game is finally complete, preloading begins tomorrow – August 17th – for Xbox Series X|S and PC (via the Xbox App / Microsoft Store), and on August 30th for Steam.

Starfield is set to launch on September 6th on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
