Star Wars Project Maverick Leaks After Being Added to PlayStation Store

Star Wars Project Maverick

It appears the existence of a new Star Wars video game has leaked when it was added to the PlayStation Store- Star Wars Project Maverick.

The news comes via the Twitter account “PSN releases,” a bot created by Luciano Ciccariello to post updates about games being added to the PlayStation Store, and updates to existing games.

On March 4th, the bot tweeted that “The game Maverick has been added to the european PSN,” along with the above image.

Along with the fact that the game has not been officially announced by Electronic Arts (EA), who hold the licence to produce Star Wars video games, but the promotional image lacks their company logo.

Stranger still is the fact the game is just called Maverick. When another Twitter user asked Ciccariello for the Title ID on the store (EP0006-CUSA19053_00-MAVERICKBETA0001), the associated database file shows that the game’s name is just Maverick.

Due to the name and the associated image, it may be safe to assume the game will focus on dog-fight style combat between spaceships- much like Rogue Squadron series. The game will at least be available on PlayStation 4.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
