Square Enix celebrates “Hispanic Heritage Month”, limits comments

Square Enix

The English branch of Square Enix’s social media has again pandered to certain types of westerners via “Hispanic Heritage Month”, limiting the replies in the process.

Here’s the social media post from Square Enix’s English Twitter account, which naturally also had comments limited to prevent people from offering any form of criticism or disagreement:

Some criticizing the tweet believed that the Japanese company should stop pandering to Westerners and instead actually celebrate their own Japanese roots, which seems to be a rarity for Square Enix.

Others found it annoying for a Japanese company to be talking about something irrelevant such as “Hispanic Heritage Month”, considering Square Enix deals with video games.
