Spark the Electric Jester 3 Announced for PC

Spark the Electric Jester 3

Feperd Games have announced 3D action platformer Spark the Electric Jester 3 for Windows PC.

Feperd Games’ Spark the Electric Jester series is heavily inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog; hardly a surprise given the primary developer Felipe Daneluz was previously known for Sonic the Hedgehog fan games. The series have tackled both classic 2D and modern 3D Sonic style games.

Now, Spark the Electric Jester 3 continues the 3D gameplay seen in the prior title (with robotic doppleganger “Fark”), with players quickly running though stages while also comboing enemies with rapid punches and kicks.

The Jester Powers will make their return, though at this stage of development the default Electric Jester is the only one. It can be upgraded in the shop, gaining new moves and special attacks that can be assigned to the d-pad. New powers will be unlocked as the player progresses.

The press kit (via the official website and video description), details the major changes between Spark the Electric Jester 2 and its sequel.

> What’s new in comparison to Spark 2.

A lot has changed, the game is a little more restrained now, Spark cannot jump as high as fark or go as unreasonably fast as he did in the previous game. But this means that the game can have more focused platforming challenges, and it means that the new moves, like being able to walk on walls, are now necessary to progress effectively.

Here’s a little list of changes:

  • The parry has been changed, Spark will now stand still and be unable to attack while holding
the parry button, but he will be immune from enemy attacks for as long as you want, as long
as he is facing the incoming attack.
  • He can now run on walls by holding the dash button and aiming it towards a wall. This wall
run can be cancelled at any time by releasing the dash button. The wall run only lasts for a
short period before Spark will start falling towards the ground. However, it can be extended
by jumping to a nearby wall.

> Changes to the combat.

The combat has changed drastically compared to the second game. The game now features a combo meter that increases your base damage the higher it is. To increase the combo meter, you must mix up your attacks. As repeatedly using a single one won’t fill it up.
It is also possible now to juggle enemies in the air for long periods of time, including bosses.

> How many stages will it have?

The game will feature less stages then the previous game, however, each stage is now longer and
they will all feature several unique side stages that are required for game completion.
Overall, the game will likely have more content than the previous but with better overall re-use of
resources.

Side stages might even be totally new content depending on what’s possible to do with them.
