Despite the somewhat polarizing reception for the original Space Pirates and Zombies, MiniMax Games have confirmed that they’ve been working on a sequel, and it’s already coming later this year.

Space Pirates and Zombies 2 has the same plot and concept from the original, only now you’ll be able to take control of one out of two hundred captains, all of which are capable of forming factions, controlling territories, and more.

The galaxies within the game will “develop differently each game,“ meaning all of the modular parts of each world are randomly designed to encourage players to create unique ships. The way you design your ship will directly affect its performance both in speed, attack, and survival.

Space Pirates and Zombies 2 will also come with split screen co-op and multiplayer arena modes. The game is set for release in the fourth quarter of this year.
