Soul Hackers 2 seems to be struggling to reach Sega’s expected sales, according to CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Koichi Fukazawa.

The company boss spoke during a Q&A after the company launched the financial results of Q2 for this fiscal year, noting the sequel underperformed.

It’s difficult to determine Soul Hackers 2’s total sales figures from their results, but it is known to be struggling as they noted new sales fell below expectations, which the game falls under as it came out during that quarter.

It’s not the only game that got below average sales for Sega this quarter either. Two Point Campus launched in the same month, but is also struggling to meet expectations despite both high engagement and that it’s a sequel to the popular title, Two Point Hospital.

Still, they believe the games can “sell over the long term”, showing their belief in the titles succeeding. Developer Atlus are still providing the game with support via a new update to the game coming out later this month.

As for Two Point Campus, they’ll most likely support the game with multiple DLC packs to bolster revenue, similar to Two Point Hospital with its numerous DLC.

Soul Hackers 2 is out now across Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Two Point Campus is available on Windows PC, Linux, Mac (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series XIS.
