A new anime based on the 1993 light novel series Sorcerous Stabber Orphen will run for two consecutive cour, meaning a season of around 24 episodes long spread over two seasons.

The first cour is set to begin later this month on the 18th of January, while the second cour is expected to start sometime in April as part of the Spring 2023 anime season.

Beginning as a light novel series in 1993 by writer and artist duo Yoshinobu Akita and Yuuya Kusaka, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen follows the sorcerer and moneylender Orphen. Although a scoundrel, he has a soft spot for his sister. After she was accidentally turned into a dragon, Orphen sets off on her trail, trying to find a way to change her back.

An anime based on the franchise was released as recently as 2020.
