Sony files Break In trademark ahead of State of Play

Break In

Sony may have accidentally given players an early look at one of its upcoming projects. The company recently filed trademarks for a title called “Break In” within both the United States and Europe.

Most signs currently point to Break In being a new name for Fairgame$, the multiplayer heist game being developed by Haven Studios. Originally revealed in 2023, the project was pitched as a competitive experience where teams infiltrate high-security locations and steal valuable loot in fast-paced matches.

However, the road to release hasn’t been entirely smooth. Reports over the past year suggested delays, leadership changes, and mixed feedback from playtests. Haven Studios founder Jade Raymond departed the company in 2025, while other key developers also moved on to new opportunities.

Despite those challenges, Sony appears committed to the project. Recent leaks and descriptions have referenced gameplay mechanics involving vault infiltration, code-breaking, and cooperative heists, which align closely with the newly trademarked Break In name.

For now, Sony has yet to officially connect Break In to Fairgame$, but with State of Play approaching fast, we may not have to wait long to find out exactly what the company has planned.
