Sonic Runners is Revealed for Smartphones, Coming in 2015

sonic runners 12-28-14-1

Sega is apparently bringing out another Sonic game, but this time it’s only for smartphones.

They’ve revealed Sonic Runners (via Famitsu), and it’s coming to both iOS and Android devices, sometime in 2015. The news came via the “Sonic Fan Thanksgiving 2014″ event, which occurred at Tokyo Joypolis.

Further details weren’t confirmed outside its Japan-first release in 2015, but we’re going to learn more next month.

I wonder how this will be different than that endless running sonic game that has already been released.

Normally I’d complain about a console series being shoved on mobile platforms but the console versions are barely above cell phone game quality these days anyway…

Hopefully, it’s not as grindy as Sonic Dash (it probably will if it’s F2P). It took fucking ages just to unlock Amy.

I just want a Sonic game that doesn’t suck… Why can Nintendo always make a good Mario game but Sega can’t?

Will it be better than sonic boom or sonic 2006? I don’t know what the bottom on sonic games are any more.

There will never be a worse Sonic than the ’06 one, they would have to go out of there way to make a bad game, that or make a buggy glitchy game, that seems to be pretty popular with the kids these days.

It’ll probably be an endless runner, but in true Sonic style some platforms won’t be solid, so Sonic will fall to his doom.

I thought Sonic Adventure, Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors, and Sonic: Lost World were pretty great.
