So This Game is All About Being a Successful Slave Driver Overlord

Alright hold it! Before you pull out your pitchforks and such, or rather log into your Tumblr and get ready to rage about this game, allow the developers to explain why you’ll be playing as a slave driver, and why that’s ok.

You see, instead of having the game take place on Earth with various races that could lead to all kinds of controversial implications, the game instead takes place in outer space. Instead of having realistic people, the game opts for a pixelated look, which also renders the various characters raceless.

Featured above, you can watch some gameplay for the game, as well as a thorough walkthrough of the mission and experience of the team at Irony Interactive. To be honest, the game itself is giving me some pretty seriously Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun vibes, which is only adding to the urge for me to throw money at my screen.

Should the game be funded, it will take place across all nine planets (unclear if Earth is involved) and bodies within our solar system, and it will in turn attempt to create a brutal, unforgiving experience with you as the owner of a space mine. You’ll have to eventually, meticulously construct a space mining monopoly in order to “maximize profit and minimize the chances of a full blown revolution.”

Let the team at Irony Interactive talk a bit about the game:

“The harshness of your Slave-Drivers can be controlled at each Labor Camp to determine the level of strictness on your slaves in the nearby area. Hard-drivin’ slavers will get things done fast, but the slaves also die a lot faster. The player also controls military units to destroy rival companies and put down revolts.”

Irony Interactive is looking for $15,000 dollars to make this game, if you’re interested head on over to their Kickstarter.
