Koei Tecmo is showing off the English version of Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk in a huge collection of screenshots. We’ve sorted through them and picked out the best.
Atelier Ayesha Plus will be available as a digital download on January 13, 2015, in North America, and will cost $39.99 on the PlayStation Store.
Without further ado …
Combat
All of the downloadable content from the Playstation 3 release will be available with the Vita version, but the Vita version will also include additional boss monsters, as pictured below, imported from the Atelier Escha & Logy bestiary.
A neat new feature in Plus, borrowed from Bravely Default, is the ability to change battle speeds. This means combat can move along faster if players wish, which allows them to finish grinding faster, or to get through a section more quickly when they have limited time.
Album missions
The Vita version of the game has mini-games in the form of achievement hunting, which are called “album missions”. Album missions consist of trying to achieve nine objectives, such as using a specific item or taking a specific action a certain number of times, in order to unlock pictures and bonuses. Completing an objective flips a panel on the album, revealing more of an image, and once nine panels have been flipped, the extra content is unlocked. These bonuses consist of, for example, new costumes for Ayesha to wear, or the ability to switch out party members at any time.
Character customization
Players who want to customize their characters will be able to do so and then some, as Atelier Ayesha Plus has new, additional costumes such as Night Blossom and Vierze Lady for Ayesha, Magical Swimmer for Wilbell, and Dark Valkyrie for Linca.
Dialogue system
Koei Tecmo Entertainment have confirmed that Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk will have dual audio, so players will be able to choose whether they want English or Japanese voice-overs. (Be careful of possible spoilers in these dialogue screenshots. You have been warned.)
Item crafting
These are just a few screenshots showing an example of item crafting in the game.
