Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, King of Cards, and Showdown Delayed “Several Months”

Yacht Club have announced a delay for Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and its Amiibo three pack; along with Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Shovel Knight: Showdown.

It should be noted that Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is a bundle of all Shovel Knight games and expansions. Along with the aforementioned, this includes Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows and Shovel Knight: Specter or Torment.

The post via their blog explained this “one last delay” is to ensure the games are “the highest level of quality just as we have with previous Shovel Knight games.” Yacht Club is also making sure all the content will be available on physical releases.

While the initial release window was April 9th, the delay is now estimated at “several months – at most!” They explained their reason to not commit to a new date:

“We realize the delay is disappointing. To communicate better with everyone moving forward, we will not be announcing a new date until we know one for sure, from all partners involved. All builds shipped out, updates ready to launch, for everybody and everyone. We will announce it for good once it is 100% all across the board!”

Yacht Club also emphasizes that dates on various online retailers are placeholders, as “Stores require and request certain information ahead of time, and we do our best to provide our most accurate guesses at that time! Updating these dates are also not something we can do instantaneously (or seemingly at all sometimes!)”

Finally, Yacht Club state that since this “not a major delay”, that more info about the games will become available. The game’s final release date will be posted on Yacht Club’s website. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

Shovel Knight is out now on Windows PC, Linux and Mac (all via GOG, Humble Bundle and Steam); along with Amazon Fire TV, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U and Xbox One.
