Sea of Thieves Hits 25 Million Players, Rare is Giving Away 25 Million Gold

Sea of Thieves Hits 25 Million Players

Publisher Microsoft and developer Rare have announced Sea of Thieves hits 25 million players, so they’re giving away a ton of gold to players in celebration.

To celebrate the news that Sea of Thieves hits 25 million players, Rare is giving anyone that logs into the game 25,000 gold and 25 doubloons. One lucky player is getting a whopping 25 million gold.

The new celebration will be available until October 26th at 7 AM Pacific / 10 AM Eastern. The game’s previous milestone was 20 million players back in March, meaning the recent Pirates of the Caribbean content likely boosted their player base.

Rare has been adding more content to Sea of Thieves since its 2018 release, with its latest underwater-themed Season 4 having launched last month. The new season added the Fury of the Damned event, new gear, new collectibles, new cosmetics, and more. This season will run for a total of nine weeks until November 24.

The new milestone blog post also recaps the various new content, additions, fixes, and more that have been added to the game with its initial seasons, like new shanties, new cat and dog pets, new events, bosses, and more.

Sea of Thieves is available for Windows PC (via the Microsoft Store, and Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. If you missed it, you can find our review here (we can’t recommend it enough!!)
