Sea of Thieves: Forts of the Forgotten is the latest adventure in Rare’s attempt at creating story-driven events for the game. This latest adventure will highlight the new Sea Fort encounters added in season 6.
While Sea of Thieves may be a piratical “sandbox”, these new adventures seek to highlight the lore of the game. Rare kicked off their new adventures last month with Shrouded Islands, an adventure which introduced players to the son of Captain Flameheart.
This new adventure sees the machination of Flameheart Jr. and the Reaper’s Bones continue as they’ve begun working with the phantoms of the new Sea Forts to kidnap pirates for use in occult rituals.
However not all may be according to plan, a new cinematic trailer for the adventure shows the return of the “Masked Stranger”, a blacksmith turned Skeleton Lord called Wanda (or Captain Warsmith depending on who’s asking). Wanda once served as a member of the Reaper’s Bones but has since seemingly come to her senses since her transformation into a skeletal captain. She’s seen at the end of the trailer sailing for the Sea Fort where Flameheart Jr. is waiting.
