Sea of Thieves Season 6 introduces Sea Forts and more

Sea of Thieves

An upcoming update for Sea of Thieves will begin the sixth season of their new “Plunder Pass” system and with it, bring in some new adventures for pirates!

The biggest attraction in the upcoming season will be Sea Forts, new “on-demand” encounters which will pit crews against waves of phantoms. These new on-demand world encounters were first introduced in Season 4 back in September with the Merfolk Shrines.

These encounters differ from usual world events such as Skeleton Forts or Ashen Winds bosses which have to spawn randomly. Instead, players can roll up on a Sea Fort any time which will provoke an encounter with the phantoms at their leisure.

The new update will also include dozens of new cosmetic items, new rewards for pirates who place high on the Emissary Ledger, and while not coming out with the beginning of the season, Pirate Legends can expect a new voyage that will hopefully mix up the long-neglected Athena’s Fortune content.

You can find out more in the Sea of Thieves Season 6 trailer below.

The new season for Sea of Thieves will begin on March 10th!

Sea of Thieves is available for Windows PC (via the Microsoft Store, and Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. If you missed it, you can find our review here (we can’t recommend it enough!!)
