Publisher tinyBuild and co-developers Hologryph and TowerHaus announced a release window for SAND: Raiders of Sophie, their player-versus-player-versus-environment game.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie, previously known as just SAND, is set to launch sometime in Q1 of 2026 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

“In the weeks since the playtest, we’ve been hard at work going through all the feedback and suggestions we received from our players,” the companies said. “After careful consideration, in order to ensure we meet the expectations of our players and are able to properly address everything we’ve learnt from the playtest, we need a little more time. As a result, we’ve decided to move the game’s launch to Q1 2026.”

They added, “Releasing the game is a milestone we only get one chance to hit, and we want to make sure that when we do, it reflects our vision and delivers the best possible experience for our community.”

While a specific release date wasn’t announced, the teams are confident in their “estimate of how long it will take to address the remaining areas of the game that need our attention.”

SAND is an open-world PVPVE extraction shooter where players operate giant walkers across the post-apocalyptic dunes of a fallen planet. Battle rival players, explore, loot and extract valuable resources in a hostile, ever-changing world. 

In order to effectively traverse this harsh and dangerous planet, you will design and deploy Tramplers, gigantic walking bases that will shield you from the elements, defend you and your loot against other players and destroy anything that obstructs your pursuit of becoming the most notorious pirate upon the dunes!

• Build, Customize and Command gigantic mechanical walkers – Tramplers, your most loyal companion, act as a mode of transport, a main base, primary storage, protection from the elements and most formidable weapon for its captain and their crew. You can build your trampler from the ground up, customizing the size, layout and placements of its engine, compartments, storage and mortal weapons.
• An industrial alternate history of 1910 – In their desperation, Galicians, citizens of a region within the Austro-Hungarian Empire are returning to the desolate remains of the once-resource-rich world of Sophie, in order to uncover hidden riches in the barren wastelands, rectify historical injustices and claim what they believe is rightfully theirs.
• Thrilling first-person PvPvE combat – Team up with a group of friends or enter the world solo and go head to head with other players and the undead former inhabitants of this once prosperous planet with a variety of weapons in frantic first person combat, or weaponize and fortify your trampler and engage in massive scale combat upon the dunes of Sophie.
