Publishers Marvelous and XSEED Games and developer Edelweiss have announced Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation, a new spinoff game set in the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin universe.

Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation is in active development though release platforms and a release date weren’t announced. A second season of the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime was also announced alongside a new smartphone game.

Currently in development by Edelweiss, developers of the smash-hit indie action-platformer and rice-farming sim Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, the title is the first entry in an expanding Sakuna franchise. The game will tell a spin-off story focused on the brilliant Princess Kokorowa, Sakuna’s close friend, who is a high-ranking goddess presiding over wheels and inventions from her heavenly home.
