TOHO Animation has revealed a new trailer and premiere date for their new Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime by animation studio P.A. Works.

The new Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime is based on the Edelweiss-developed farming/action game of the same name, and will premiere on July 6th.

The newest trailer features more scenes for the upcoming anime, and features both the opening “Seisei” by Ikimonogakari, and the ending theme “Origami” by Little Glee Monster.

Masayuki Yoshihara, who worked for The Eccentric Family and Komada-A Whisky Family, serves as the anime director. Jukki Hanada, writer for the Love Live and Kancolle anime, will pen the script. Shoji Soma who produced Shirobako and The Eccentric Family, will serve as the line producer.

The voice cast for the game is returning for the anime, including Sakuna’s voice actress Naomi Ozora (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, Gabriel Dropout, Jahy Would Not be Defeated).

The original Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin game has been available on Windows PC (via Steam), Switch, and PlayStation 4. Check out our review! A manga was written by Jiji and Finch and published by Marvelous in 2021, titled Tensui no Sakuna Hime: Ikusa Datara no Kamigami. The manga ran for a year.
