Marvelous has announced the formation of a new studio, and it’s being helmed by none other than Yoshifumi Hashimoto.
Hashimoto, who is known for his work as producer on the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory games at Marvelous proper, has left his positions as XO and CEO, only to lead this new subsidiary development studio.
The Shibuya-based studio has the Inti Creates-produced Dragon: Marked for Death listed as their first published work, while they curiously list two unannounced titles as well. While details regarding their other titles are obviously scant, their mission statement points to development of a large variety of video games, including consumer, social, or online titles.
Hashimoto was the progenitor for Dragon: Marked for Death, as he wanted to work with the Mega Man Zero developers – eventually Inti Creates helped bring the team together. It’s worth pointing out both Hashimoto’s new Hakama team and Inti Creates are co-developing the title.
It remains unclear if Hashimoto will still be involved with the new Story of Seasons game for Switch, but it’s certainly a possibility that his new team could be working on the very same title.
