A new rumor is swirling around Microsoft’s new approach to getting Xbox everywhere, and even on non-Microsoft gaming hardware.
The rumor (via a few sources like JeuxVideo) points to both Microsoft and Nintendo bringing the Xbox Game Pass service to the Switch, meaning first-party Microsoft titles would be stream-able on the hybrid console.
Furthermore, the source points to certain titles already confirmed for the program on Switch, including Ori and the Blind Forest and Cuphead. The source notes one of Microsoft’s big three franchises, either Halo, Gears of War, or Forza, also has a title being considered for Switch (they did not specify if this is an Xbox One title, a spinoff, and so on).
Previously, we confirmed that Microsoft’s presence at this year’s Game Developers Conference mentioned the publisher bringing Xbox Live support to the Switch. It’s very possible this is when the company will announce that and the Xbox Game Pass for the hybrid console.
As with any rumors, take this with a grain of salt until we confirm its authenticity or an official announcement is made.
