As promised, Gotcha Gotcha Games has announced RPG Maker U2U, an all-new release for their DIY game engine that adds HD-2D like visuals.
RPG Maker U2U is in development for Windows PC, though a release date wasn’t announced. The engine is based on Unity Engine, which the team says powers its “rich sense of depth and beautiful effects.”

New Visual Expression: P2D (Perspective 2D)
Add 3D depth and rich effect expression to conventional 2D maps! By adopting a fixed perspective similar to the classic 2D RPG Maker view, you’ll draw players deeper into your imagination than ever before.
