The Roblox Innovation Awards, which were formerly known as the Bloxys before rebranding for this year, have taken place. The awards are meant to celebrate and rewards those who have created great games or experiences through Roblox.
Welcome to Bloxburg, a roleplaying game, ended up taking home the best international hit award, while 2021’s game of the year, Piggy, won best content update for its continuing support.
The awards aren’t only limited to things created in Roblox. There were also a number of awards dedicated to content creators of the game. Video star of the year would go to Youtuber Flemingo. While another by the name of ItsFunneh would win video star video of the year.
They would finish out their annual event discussing the future of the game. There was a reiteration in regards to previous news about the company giving a bit of a rebrand for themselves.
As we’re reported before, they’ve adopted a new logo and slogan. As the team hopes to a major metaverse developer which aims more towards adults rather than the children fanbase Roblox are more known for. Because of this, they’ve also loosened chat restrictions for users ages 13 and older.
Other updates they shared as plans for the future of Roblox at this event include changes to its user-generated content programs, expansions to its Star Creator programs, verification for influencers and notable users, and other features towards creating.
