Ridley Scott’s Napoleon film gets November premiere date and first look

Napoleon

Apple Studios and director Ridley Scott have finally revealed a premiere date and first look for their ambitious Napoleon film, a biopic focused entirely on the legendary French Emperor.

Napoleon is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on November 22nd, just in time for the Thanksgiving festivities and holiday this year. Featured above, the first on-set production photo from the film was also revealed (via Hollywood Reporter).

Apple is teaming up with Sony to distribute the film worldwide, after which it’ll stream exclusively on Apple TV+.

Directed by Scott with a screenplay by David Scarpa, Napoleon stars Joaquin Phoenix as the indomitable French conqueror who led the successful revolutionary wars that came after King Louis XVI was desposed and executed.

The film will focus on Napoleon’s rise to power alongside his addictive yet dangerous relationship with Joséphine de Beauharnais, whom he later married.

Unlike previous films on the infamous French ruler that typically focused on one battle, Scott’s Napoleon will feature a staggering six battles from the commander’s tenure.

The news of Napoleon’s premiere date comes not long after Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon also got a premiere date, through yet another partnership with Apple Studios.
