Ryza Stout is one of the most controversial designs in game history. Though often forgotten due to the more mainstream celebrated girls like NieR: Automata’s 2B, or Stellar Blade’s EVE, Ryza’s design caused just as much of an uproar among whiny political journalists.
Her playful look, her friendly and joyful facial expressions, and most importantly, all of her incredibly designed outfits all remain untouched in all three entries.
In the first entry, her first main ensemble outfit received a lot of criticism from detractors due to its impressive thigh gap. However, many times over since the first game’s release, this outfit has gone as far as having multiple crossovers with other IPs featuring this outfit due to its ever-growing popularity.

With Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack, you get to enjoy all sorts of additional outfits for not just Ryza herself, but Tao, Claudia, Lent, Lila, and all the other heroes that join her adventure. In some cases, a character gets as many as 6 outfits right from the get-go.
The impressive addition of extra features goes far beyond just costumes. Many of these are paid DLCs from their original releases, but having them all bundled together creates an incredibly accessible and content-packed experience full of gaming joy.
While there have been many Atelier games over the years, Ryza’s story has undoubtedly received the most care and attention, seemingly bringing fresh success to the series.

This complete collection feels like a heartfelt thank-you or love letter to fans, given how generous it is with its content and features. One standout addition is the inclusion of extra playable characters across all three entries, previously unavailable in their original parts.
Agatha, Kilo, and Romy join the first game, Empel and Lilamakeg return in the second, and Clifford and Sera become playable in the third and final entry, offering a massive amount of new content to enjoy while developing these characters throughout each adventure.
One new feature is the custom mode, which lets you create combat scenarios and serves as a powerful tool for understanding and theorycrafting how your items and builds might work. It basically gives players a “sandbox” level of creativity to enjoy combat however they like. Photo Mode also makes its debut in the Ryza series, though it’s become a pretty standard addition these days, with most games including some form of it.

Lastly, if not the most important addition of all, new story moments are added to each entry. How much was added in the story alone could make it feel like a fresh new experience for a returning player. Replaying the first game for the 3rd time felt completely different just by having certain characters at parts of the story I wasn’t accustomed to.
Gameplay-wise, nothing has really changed between any of the three entries. The inventive use of real-time and action commands always shines through, but can feel a bit overwhelming at first.
Sticking to just controlling one character while the other two in battle are left to do their actions is always the easiest way to approach, but the skill sealing of utilizing all 3 heroes at once, plus your back row, is always there.

Difficulty settings can always be cheesed at any time in the me, just like in the originals, sadly, so any real difficulty must be done through self-imposed challenges of fighting yourself not to lower the difficulty.
The Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack is the perfect way to repackage a series in multiple parts. Put them all together, include all the DLC, plus additional content to surprise returning players. Yet another Atelier game this year, and it’s been all success every which way but loose. Embrace the alchemy and the thigh gap; you will be a happier person in the end, I promise.
