Resident Evil Requiem DLC may not arrive until after Code: Veronica Remake

Resident Evil Requiem

According to rumors, current rumors suggests Resident Evil Requiem’s planned story expansion DLC won’t launch until after the long-rumored Resident Evil Veronica remake, which is reportedly targeting a 2027 release window.

Resident Evil Requiem launched earlier this year to strong reviews and sales, introducing players to FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft alongside series veteran Leon Kennedy. Capcom has already confirmed that a story expansion is in development, though details remain under wraps.

The new rumor has sparked speculation because Code: Veronica is often viewed as one of the most important chapters in Claire Redfield’s story. Many fans believe the remake could help set up future events, character appearances, or unresolved plot threads that may eventually be addressed in Requiem’s expansion.

For now, nothing is official beyond the fact that the DLC exists. Still, if the rumor proves accurate, Capcom may be building a much larger narrative bridge between its remake projects and the future of the Resident Evil series.
