Quirky Yet Twisted Japanese Shmup “Black Bird” for Switch Launches October 18 in Japan

Indie Japanese developer Onion Games has announced the release date for their upcoming shoot ’em up, Black Bird.

The quirky yet twisted shmup will launch for Nintendo Switch on October 18th in Japan, via the eShop. Featured above, you can view a new trailer for the game’s release date.

While the PC version and international Switch versions weren’t dated, Onion Games confirmed to Niche Gamer the game is currently being evaluated by Nintendo of America and Europe, but should be wrapped up soon and get proper release dates.

This is the tale of a young girl who dies one day on a street corner and is reborn as the ominous Black Bird. The bird is one of the great calamities, spoken of in the kingdom since ancient times.
