Hifumi Kono, the creator of the classic horror series, Clock Tower, and his team at Nude Maker have announced a new spiritual successor to the original series.
The new game, dubbed Project Scissors, is coming to Playstation Vita, iOS, and Android. The new game is set within a luxury cruise liner in the middle of the open ocean. As the trip unfolds, a series of mysterious and nasty murders begin to arise, some involving the ships crew. Being a passenger on the ship, you take it upon yourself to attempt to solve the mystery, and hopefully survive alongside the other “innocent” passengers.
Masahiro Ito, the man responsible for the creatures and such in the Silent Hill series, is developing the creatures and props in Project Scissors. Here’s an interesting bit: Takashi Shimizu, the director of the Ju-on and The Grudge movies, is working on Project Scissors as a creative producer. He’s also directing a live-action teaser trailer for the game.
There will reportedly be other notable Japanese developers joining the project, but they’ll be confirmed in later announcements.
