Ubisoft has announced their Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is still alive, though it won’t launch for some time as development is ramping up.
The new Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is now set to launch sometime in 2026.
The new remake has been delayed several times, only to now be handed over to their main team at Ubisoft Montreal. The remake is also now officially just titled Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, dropping the “Remake” from its title.
Furthermore, development on the game has shift to receive support from various Ubisoft satellite studios including: Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Pune and E-Studio. Release platforms have yet to be confirmed for the remake.

The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time confirmed the targeted year of release, through a poetic vision of a flame reignited. In 2026, players will get to reconnect with their beloved Prince, in an adventure rebuilt from the ground up, which captures the magic of the
original game. The game successfully completed its pre-production phase and is now entering full production, with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Pune and E-Studio joining forces with Ubisoft Montréal.
