Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Delayed to March 18

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

Ubisoft have announced the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed.

Developed by Ubisoft Pune (with the original being developed by Ubisoft Montreal), the game was originally slated for January 21st for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and Uplay), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Now, the game will launch on March 18th.

The reason for the delay was only cited as “2020 has been a year like no other,” and that the game was taking additional time. It is likely the COVID-19 quarantine orders and working from home have caused delays from the initial plans.

You can find the full statement below.

“During our Ubisoft Forward digital conference, we proudly announced the reutn of the Prince with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
We are excited to put this game in your hands, as we retell the story of the Prince and Farah in a reimagined 11th century Persia. However, 2020 has been a year like no other. Today we wanted to let you know that we are taking additional time to work on the game. With that, the release date for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right call to ensure we will deliver a game you will enjoy.

Thank you for your patience and continued support for Prince of Peris and we hope you stay safe and healthy this holiday season.”
