Pokemon Sleep Guide – Basic tips when starting

Pokemon Sleep

Pokemon Sleep still hasn’t come out yet, but during a recent open beta, the developer released an animated guide on how to use the app.

Pokemon Sleep – Basic tips

Sleep Styles

Throughout the night, the Pokemon Sleep app will track your sleep and reward you based on your “sleep style”. Different styles give different rewards and Pokemon will even have different sleep styles!

These styles are represented with different animations, meaning that to “catch ’em all” you’ll need different sleeping Pokemon of the same species.

For example Pikachu will have:

  • Droopy-Eared Sleep
  • Curled Up Sleep
  • Electrifying Sleep

And there are plenty of other types for each Pokemon!

The players will have their own sleep styles which they’ll learn while playing and may change from night to night based on how you sleep.

These categories can largely be categorized as “Dozing”, “Snoozing”, and “Slumbering” based on how deep your sleep is. But you may also have some modifiers like “Rocking Sleep” if you move a lot. Or “Singing Sleep” if you mutter while you dream.

All of this data is used to affect what Pokemon will show up for capture!

Snorlax

Who else but Snorlax could be the centerpiece of Pokemon Sleep? During your waking hours you’ll get to feed Snorlax and help him have his own restful sleep.

Between feeding him and sleeping, you’ll increase his power each week.

Snorlax’s power will also influence the rarity of the Pokemon which appear.

Information

Your sleep information will be readily available to you through the Pokemon Sleep app.

This will include the depth of your sleep, and also anything like interruptions or strange quirks in your habits.

You’ll also be scored on how regular your sleep schedule and habits are.

While using the app

There’s a few things to keep in mind while using the app.

Firstly, it’s advised to keep the phone plugged in since the app will drain your battery if it’s not. The app will keep your phone active while monitoring your sleep, even though the display may turn off as normal.

Since the device is active, it’s advised not to put your phone underneath sheets or pillows as it may get hot.

Pokemon Sleep will not work on hard surfaces like your bed frame.

Pokemon Sleep is expected to release sometime in Summer 2023, that means very soon!
