The second season for ranked battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has officially begun,

The announcement for the new ranked battle season includes a list of eligible Pokemon and prizes for participating in online ranked matches.

First off, eligible Pokemon for ranked battles include Paldean Pokedex numbers 001-375 and numbers 388-392.

This conveniently excludes both Legendary as well as Paradox Pokemon which have similar stats to Legendaries. 388-392 includes the Baxcalibur and Gholdengo evolutionary lines which are awkwardly sandwiched between Paradox and Legendaries.

Players will receive in-game prizes for their participation in online ranked battles. Prizes range from an assortment of goodies including an Ability Patch (an item which can change a Pokemon’s ability) to just a couple thousand League Points for participants.

Ultra Ball Tier

Great Ball Tier

• TM171 (Tera Blast) ×1
• Bottle Cap ×1
• Ability Capsule ×1
• 30,000 League Points

Poké Ball Tier

• TM171 (Tera Blast) ×1
• 10,000 League Points

Beginner Tier

• 5,000 League Points

Although the game has been more than a bit buggy since it launched late last year, it’s good to see that the ranked battle seasons are seemingly proceeding without a hitch.
