Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now the worst rated games in the series

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have officially become the lowest rated Pokemon games (at least in the mainline franchise), according to Metacritic.

At the time of writing, the game is sitting at a score of 72 and is just behind its counterpart Pokemon Scarlet at 73 and previous worst of the worst champion Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl which also sit at 73.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have been put on blast by the overall gaming community as soon as it launched.

While generation 8’s Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield had their fair share of issues, all of the problems in the latest game were magnified by the ambitious “open world” layout of generation 9. Despite that, generation 8’s games managed to get a respectable 80 on the review aggregating site.

Even though the games had a painful launch, the new games managed to sell over 10 million copies combined in the first three days, that’s more than The Last of Us: Part II has sold since it released.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on the Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review here! (Despite the bugs, we still recommend it!)
