The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak revealed a brand new Pokemon for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Grafaiai, a “toxic monkey” brawler, and I think I love the critter already.

I’ve always been a sucker for poison Pokemon and their tendency to be used by ninjas or villains in the series, with some longtime favorites being Golbat (and then Crobat), and naturally poison-hybrids like Gengar or Tentacruel.

Game Freak describes Grafaiai as a “moody pokemon” with a “fastidious disposition,” noting the toxic ape prefers to go it alone and constantly ends up fighting anyone or anything that enters its territory. The creature’s saliva is what gives it a toxic, paralyzing edge – to which it will lick its claws with its saliva for its nighttime adventures.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set to release on November 18th, on Nintendo Switch. Also players can receive a special Pikachu, which knows the Fly and has Flying Tera Type, this early -purchase gift will be available until February 28, 2023.
