PLAION is merging Deep Silver, Prime Matter, and Ravenscourt to single brand

PLAION

Publishing giant PLAION is set to merge several of their core subsidiaries into one brand, news confirmed via internal documents.

The internal presentation (via Gamesindustry.biz) reveals PLAION, formerly Koch Media, is merging three of their publishing labels: Deep Silver, Prime Matter and Ravenscourt, down to one brand, under the parent company PLAION.

The source reportedly notes the goal with merging these companies is to produce fewer games at a higher quality.

When reached out for comment, PLAION confirmed the news by saying the restructure was part of “simplifying our publishing operations”, and noted it will only affect five or six jobs.

PLAION currently employs over 2,000 people and the source is seemingly suggesting there will be more layoffs than reported.

Lastly, the publisher noted this restructuring won’t be immediate, instead it may take up to twelve months and games may still be published under individual labels Deep Silver, Prime Matter and Ravenscourt “over the next couple of years.”
