Last month, Blizzard revealed they would be doing a collaboration crossover with the One Punch Man anime for their hero shooter Overwatch 2.
During this announcement, they revealed character Doomfist would be adorning Saitama’s outfit, but promised other items would be revealed in time.
Now that time has come and they have revealed (via Xbox Wire) the support character, Kiriko, will be getting a new skin based on the One Punch Man character Tatsumaki.
Her skin comes in the form of a bundle which players can purchase for 2100 coins (roughly 21 USD). In this bundle they’ll get the skin along with a victory pose and namecard. This bundle will be available from March 7th until April 6.
This announcement also came with some statements made to Xbox Wire, such as how the crossover came to be as an idea. In which art director Dion Rodgers stated that it “was something [they’ve] been wanting to do for a while”.
“There’s a bit of an anime look to Overwatch.” He continued on with. “So, being fans of anime, we were looking for a partner to collaborate with”. From there they ended up settling on One Punch Man as he stated he was surprised to see how many were fans of the anime.
Overwatch 2 has been available since October 2022 for Windows PC (via Battle.net), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
