Discotek Media ran their latest broadcast filled with new announcements, chief among them was a new remaster for the 1997 Berserk anime.

The new release is the first high-definition remaster for the original 1997 Berserk anime, as all previous home releases were standard definition. The remaster is described as a “gorgeous native HD scan,” with “some redone text screens.”

Discotek is throwing everything and the kitchen sink into their Berserk anime remaster, including “newly polished subtitles, the classic English dubs,” and “all of the extras from past releases.”

For longtime fans of the 1997 Berserk anime and its classic English dub – its infamous English dub outtakes are also naturally included in this release. “You know the ones,” Discotek teased.

Based on the legendary manga series by Kentaro Miura, the original Berserk anime was produced by OLM Studio (Gunsmith Cats, Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor) and was considered a critical and commercial success.

The Discotek remaster for the 1997 Berserk anime is set to release in their March 2024 titles.
