Doug TenNapel, the creator of Earthworm Jim, has launched the crowdfunding campaign for a new official comic series based on the titular worm.

The new Indiegogo campaign is now live, and there are several backing tiers, including – the comic book, the comic book and the making of book, signed illustrations by Doug himself, and more. Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer for the new goodies.

The campaign has already blown past the funding goal of $12,000 within 24 hours, and now sits above $100,000. This comic book will be “the only time the epic origin has been told by the creator of Earthworm Jim.”

In related news, a brand new entry in the Earthworm Jim franchise was recently announced, exclusively for the Intellivision Amico. The entire original team is on board for development, including Doug.
