Niche Spotlight – Vox Machinae: a weighty, tactical mech action game

Vox Machinae

Today’s Niche Spotlight is Vox Machinae, a VR-enabled mech combat game by Space Bullet Dynamics Corporation that recently left Early Access.

Now that the game has left Early Access, the full release for Vox Machinae is available on Windows PC via Steam for $29.99.

In Vox Machinae, players will defend a remote mining colony as part of the Horizon corporation’s security team. Climb aboard a massive mining mech called a Grinder that has been retrofitted for combat with a variety of missiles, cannons, lasers, and machine guns.

In addition to a single player campaign, Vox Machinae also features competitive multiplayer for up to 16 players, including AI bots. While Vox Machinae was built from the ground-up for VR, it can be played in a non-VR mode as well.

You can find the game’s campaign launch trailer below.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

All-New Singleplayer Campaign

Welcome to the Serus System! As a member of Horizon Corporate’s Security unit, it’s your job to keep the peace by piloting massive mining machines. However, your daily grind is interrupted when a mysterious hostile force begins to encroach on your company’s mining operations. Now, it’s up to you and the rest of the Horizon Security team to protect your fellow co-workers, defend your company’s resources, and uncover the secrets of the Serus system.

Pick your Grinder and customize it with a powerful arsenal of lasers, missiles, cannons and more before launching out to defend your company’s territory. Engage in an immersive single player campaign, or drop-in for seamless multiplayer action with no loot-box or micro-transactions.
