Today’s Niche Spotlight is Overlord: Escape from Nazarick, a new 2D Metroidvania by ENGINES and Kadokawa Corporation.

Overlord: Escape from Nazarick is now available on Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch for $29.99.

Based on the popular anime and light novel series, Overlord: Escape from Nazarick features a new side story created in collaboration with series author, Kugane Maruyama. The game follows Clementine, who has awakened in the Great Tomb of Nazarick following her defeat at the hands of Ainz Ooal Gown.

Missing most of her memories and equipment, Clementine is forced to explore the depths of Nazarick as part of a twisted experiment by Ainz Ooal Gown. Use Clementine’s agility and magic to navigate Nazarick’s many deathtraps. Fight off the tomb’s guardians with an arsenal of upgradeable weapons as you try to restore Clementine’s memories and escape Nazarick.

Clementine wakes to find herself imprisoned in the Great Tomb of Nazarick by none other than the Supreme Being, Ainz Ooal Gown, who forces her to participate in his brutal experiments.

Bereft of her favorite weapons and a good chunk of her memories, Clementine must defeat all of Ainz’s most formidable servants as she claws her way to freedom.
