This year’s Jump Festa (via Otakomu) had some wonderful news for the fans of the demon and ghost fighter, Yusuke Urameshi. Yu Yu Hakusho is getting a 25th anniversary blu-ray box set, and included with it is an all-new animation for the series.

While details are scant, the above visual was shown at the convention alongside the banner confirming a new animation was being produced for the series. Considering this is the 25th anniversary for the series, we’re hoping the new animation is more substantial and not a short OVA of sorts.

The original Yu Yu Hakusho TV anime aired back in 1992 and ran for 112 episodes, followed by a six episode OVA in 1994. Its original manga ran from 1990 to 1994, for a total of 19 volumes.

For now, we’ll keep you guys posted. What would you like to see in a new Yu Yu Hakusho anime? Sound off in the comments below!
