New Valorant Character Yoru Revealed, Episode Two Act One Season Launches January 12

Valorant Yoru

Riot Games have announced the next character coming to Valorant, Yoru, along with the release date of Episode Two, Act One.

DOT Esports report [1, 2, 3] that Yoru is a duelist type character who can use fake footsteps, portals, flash-stepping, and turning invisible to bewilder foes. The character was built around infiltration; slightly ironic being that the character reportedly leaked before his official reveal.

You can find the Episode 2 Cinematic trailer and the rundown on his abilities (via DOT Esports) below.

C – Fakeout
Equip an echo that mimics footsteps when activated. Fire to activate and send the echo forward, alt-fire to place an echo in place, and use the inactive echo to send it forward.

E – Gatecrash
Equip to harness a rift tether. Fire to send the tether out moving forward, alt-fire to put a tether in place, and activate to teleport to the tether’s location.

Q – Blindside
Equip to rip an unstable dimensional fragment from reality. Fire to throw the fragment, activating a flash that winds up once it collides with a hard surface in the world.

Ultimate – Dimensional Drift
Equips a mask that can see between dimensions. Fire to drift into Yoru’s dimension, making the player unable to be affected or seen by enemies during the ultimate’s duration.”

In addition, the next season (Episode Two, Act One) will launch January 12th, and ends March 1st. During that time, the battle pass (1,000 VP, or $10 USD) will include 12 gun skins, a melee skin, sprays, Gun Buddies, and other cosmetic items. Players can unlock new tier of rewards as the play matches, and all players will unlock the Infinity Classic and three variants at level 50.

You can find the abridged rundown (via the official website) below.

Blend your style and experience on a global, competitive stage. You have 13 rounds to attack and defend your side using sharp gunplay and tactical abilities. And, with one life per-round, you’ll need to think faster than your opponent if you want to survive. Take on foes across Competitive and Unranked modes as well as Deathmatch and Spike Rush.

More than guns and bullets, you’ll choose an Agent armed with adaptive, swift, and lethal abilities that create opportunities to let your gunplay shine. No two Agents play alike, just as no two highlight reels will look the same.

Each map is a playground to showcase your creative thinking. Purpose-built for team strategies, spectacular plays, and clutch moments. Make the play others will imitate for years to come.

Valorant launches June 2nd on Windows PC (via the official website).
