Studio TRIGGER has shared the first teaser trailer for their New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime, the second season to their cult hit anime.

The first teaser for the New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime shows off the two main ladies: the titular Panty and Stocking, as well as Garterbelt and other returning characters.

The majority of the characters all have the same actors reprising their roles including Arisa Ogasawara as Panty, Mariya Ise as Stocking, and Koji Ishii as Garterbelt. New castings include Akeno Watanabe as Knee Socks and Yuko Natsuyoshi as Zipper.

Alongside the new castings and trailer comes word that Taku Takahashi from the popular Japanese R&B / hip-hop group M-Flo is returning to produce the music for the New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime.

As covered in our previous report, Studio TRIGGER is animating the new series after the original Panty & Stocking series was done by now-defunct Gainax. Most of their staff left to form TRIGGER, and after the studio acquired the rights from Gainax, they began work on the new season.

Hiroyuki Imaishi is returning as director though scriptwriter Hiromi Wakabayashi and Akira Furukawa will serve as assistant directors. Wakabayashi is also serving as a concept planner and Atsushi Nishigori is returning as character designer, along with Masaru Sakamoto, Sushio, and Shigeto Koyama.

A premiere date for the New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime hasn’t been confirmed – we’ll keep you guys posted.
