New Online, Melee Action Game Absolver Announced for PC, Consoles

Today, Sloclap and publisher Devolver Digital have announced their first game, titled Absolver. The title is a melee-focused combat RPG that is planned to hit PC and consoles sometime in 2017.

According to the game’s webpage, players will be put behind the mask of a Prospect – a warrior who has taken a sacred vow and aims to join the Absolvers who are an elite group of warriors fighting to maintain order in the world. Players will wander the lands of the game while coming across other players online while striving to become Absolvers.

As per any real RPG, Prospects will pick up new combat styles, different attacks, weapons, abilities and armor. Battles are in real-time, featuring a range of actions from attacks to dodges, feints, and counters. Sloclap aims to make everything customizable, from combat styles and weapons to even individual attack sequences.

The game’s online will feature both PvE and PvP, so you can tackle the dungeon mines of the world with your friends, or test yourself in various arenas.

Absolver is planned to be at E3 – and you can get a glimpse of gameplay on Twitch which will broadcast on June 13th at 5pm PDT.
