Showrunners for the new Magic Knight Rayearth anime series have updated its official website revealing new artwork and a premiere set for next year.

While details are scant on the previously announced series, the new series is being made to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary. A premiere is now set for sometime in 2026, on TV Asahi.

A new teaser visual was revealed with main characters Shidou Hikaru, Ryuzaki Umi, and Hououji Fuu, with Tokyo Tower, the place where they originally meet:

It remains unclear if the new Magic Knight Rayearth anime is a reboot of the series or a new work entirely. Further details like a production studio and a firm release date will be announced via the official website.

Magic Knight Rayearth was originally serialized by artist collective CLAMP in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine from 1993 through 1996, and was later adapted into a TV anime.
