New Injustice 2 Story Trailer – DLC, Special Editions Details

DC Comics-based fighting game Injustice 2 has a new story trailer out, and with it comes new details on pre-order bonuses and special editions of the game.

The trailer, seen above, is subtitled “The Lines are Redrawn.” In the YouTube description, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios give a brief synopsis of the plot, saying:

The line between hero and villain has become blurred as the most epic battle in the DC universe rages on in Injustice 2. While Batman has emerged the victor in his battle against the Regime, a new threat arises and poses the ultimate threat to Earth.

WB Games also detailed the game’s DLC and special editions. All pre-orders will come with Darkseid as a fighter, regardless of edition. The digital deluxe edition of Injustice 2 will include 3 more DLC fighters, along with a Premier Skin for Supergirl and a Gear Shader Pack. The Ultimate Edition includes all of this, plus 6 more DLC fighters, two more Premier Skins for Flash and Green Lantern, and an extra “Destroyer” Gear Shader pack.

Injustice 2 released for PS4 and Xbox One May 16th

because Those guys can’t model a beautiful woman if the’re lives depended on it.

Actually, I lie, they did get better with Supergirl’s face. but still not quite where it needs to be.

9 DLC characters from the get-go. Preorder bonus character before we know the cast (a popular one like Darkseid nonetheless). The balls on WB for milking this to the end. Even Capcom would shy away from these tactics. I’m a huge fan of the DC universe and I really liked the first Injustice, but I’ll surely be skipping this one or at the very least wait for the full game to come out.

It could be another costume and this one may be included in a classic costume set for 4.99$.

Still doing the first day DLC thing. I’ll wait for the komplete edition, assuming this game is gonna be any improvement.

They will especially since they are still retaining Supergirls most p.c. costume ever. I really can’t wait to see what awful design they’ll come up with for Poison Ivy.

I think the story of in the first one was decent. But I didn’t liked the gameplay very much.Eh maybe I’ll pick it up once it gets a high enough discount.

It’s there. Different shape, but on the PS store you can see it.

On the bright side, if the rumors are true most of the DLC characters are shitty guest characters that don’t belong in the game anyway.

Doesn’t make it right either way.

I wouldn’t expect the Power Girl reskin to last beyond one costume. We will see more Supergirl costumes – including a TV show Premier Skin with her actor doing new lines and the “stupid” New 52 redesign* of Supergirl before a second Peej costume.

*I liked that costume save for the red panties/crotch arrow it had.

Does in my book. It’s a DC game and I’m interested in it for the DC characters. They can keep that other crap separate as far as I’m concerned. If I wanted to play Sub Zero I’d buy MKX. If the game was built around crossovers I’d probably agree with you. But it isn’t, so I couldn’t care less. I have no interest in Spawn or random movie characters, so I won’t miss them if/when I don’t buy them.

I guess I’ll have to spell it out. Announcing 9 DLC characters before the game is released and we know the entire roster is wrong no matter who those characters are. Plus most Injustice DLC characters were actually from the DCU and only Scorpion was the outlier, so chances are that there definitely will be DC characters the 9.

What I don’t understand is that this could be a different game entirely. After reading the “Injustice: Gods Among Us” comic series (of which I still haven’t finished – Mister Mxyzptlk showed up and did his usual…) this could be a game modeled like the “Arkham” series. As much as I enjoy storytelling in a fighting game – and I used to play them all the time specifically for the story, not just the fighting mechanics – this would probably do better being an action/adventure game.

However, it’s a fighting game now and there was reason they chose this route. I’m sure it was a good one and it seems to show I guess. Netherrealm studios does a good job of this with their new engine, though not without its quirks. The fighting is a bit stiff, character design is cool but could be better based on their target audience (I think it’s 16+?), and then there’s their issue with DLC that others have already mentioned.

Either way, guess I’ll play it when it’s the ‘Komplete Edition’ as someone mentioned.

I love to read the comments in here about this game. This is a fighting game, if you don’t like the design of the female characters, go watch porn :P

“Go watch porn” The go-to phrase when people criticize the ugliness of most western character designs.

9 DLC characters? … in a fighting game?

oh look, I bash western character design, I’m special

When the majority of western developers actually start making decent character designs I’ll stop bashing it.

I assume you wanted to actually write this comment: “When the majority of western developers actually start making decent female character designs I’ll stop bashing it.” That’s what I keep reading everytime, but no one gives NRS credit for what they do right in comparison to japanese fighting games where the beautiful games seem to be the only thing that’s interesting. Try to defend this then: How about putting an actual story mode in japanese fighting games? SF5 didn’t have one and KOF14’s “story mode” isn’t really a story mode either.

The MK games do have stories, but not really the greatest stories ever told and MKX’s story is kinda crappy really. In a fighting game the story isn’t really a key factor, it is more of an extra than anything. And actually that applies for both male and female designs from my statement. Both men and women in most western games look very horrible. You need only look at the recent videos of Mass Effect Andromeda to see that.

Each has his own opinion, if you think that those stories are so crappy, well then just don’t play them. I just don’t get it why people have to complain all the time even though they don’t play them. I assume, they don’t have anything better to do then. Oh well, let trolls troll…

I wouldn’t go as far to say “crappy” but let’s face it, most gaming stories, more so fighting game stories, are not meant to be great. Be they from either east or west, they are super ridiculous and you cannot take them seriously at all, which is fine because, hey, it’s a video game, not Shakespeare.

You literally just said it was crappy… But you can have your own opinion. When I see how NRS tries to please fans (not just story), I must give them credit for it. The level of detail is pretty impressive: the number of different unique clash quotes in Injustice, the unique entrance dialogues in MKX. That’s something you maybe see in other fighting games, but not to that degree. Yes the story of fighting games is corny but it keeps you entertained. For all those fighting game players who aren’t as hardcore and more casual, they atleast propose more variety than other games. And they listen to many fan requests and recently started the beta of Injustice 2. But yeah let’s hate because of some “bad” character design which doesn’t involve big breasts… -_-
