Perfect World Entertainment has announced that Neverwinter, their currently burgeoning MMORPG on PC, is coming to Xbox One in 2015.
The Xbox One port will come with “the same fast-paced combat and epic dungeons” as the original on PC. As expected, the game has been re-tooled to work on an Xbox One pad, meaning the flood of menus have been removed in lieu of a circular tray that can be accessed by various button commands.
One of the coolest features is that your Xbox Live friends will be tied to your in-game friends list, making it easier to party up with buddies. Neverwinter is also confirmed to feature cross-platform play between PC and Xbox One.
Lastly, the most curious bit of information regarding this announcement is the fact that Perfect World Entertainment’s Playstation 4 version (confirmed during this year’s E3 expo) of Neverwinter may be on the back burner, or potentially scrapped entirely, if their response to Eurogamer is of any note:
“We have no official word on any other consoles outside of the Xbox One at this time.”
We’ll keep you guys posted.
