Multiple indie devs including Red Hook Studios (Darkest Dungeon), Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic), and more have begun teasing a sudden mystery project called the iii Initiative.

It’s unclear what this project even is, the Twitter page was only made earlier this month and the official website leads to a countdown for an announcement in a little over two weeks.

It’s safe to assume that the “triple-i” stands for Triple Indie, but other than that there’s not much to go on.

Could this be an indie response to the recent layoffs in the gaming industry? Smaller developers coming together to lift one another up and encourage job security? That’s our guess, but we’ll have to wait until March 28 at 1pm EST to find out.
