Minecraft has been available for Windows PC, Linux, Mac (all via the official website), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, PS5, Android, iOS, Amazon Fire, Amazon Fire, and Fire TV.
Here’s a rundown on the new release, plus a trailer:
Experience Vibrant Visuals on Nintendo Switch 2
Vibrant Visuals is Minecraft’s biggest visual graphics update to date, and it’ll come enabled as the default graphics setting in the native Switch 2 version!
Released in June 2025 alongside our Chase the Skies update, Vibrant Visuals transforms the way players experience Minecraft – with improved visual elements such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, and more. The result is dazzling – shadows move as the sun arcs across the sky, sunshine reflects in the water, light plays on the bottoms of lakes, and clouds appear infinite as they stretch far into the distance.
Super Mario™ Mash-Up is transformed with Vibrant Visuals
To celebrate the launch of the native version of Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch 2, there will also be an update to the much-loved Super Mario™ Mash-Up* pack using enhanced Vibrant Visuals graphics!
The Super Mario™ Mash-Up pack is exclusive to Nintendo versions of Minecraft, and it brings the world of Mario into Minecraft with themed textures, music and skins – alongside iconic locations to explore, all inspired by the Super Mario Bros. series! Venture to Peach’s castle, explore Delfino Plaza and experience first-hand how this exciting world comes to life in new ways with the addition of Vibrant Visuals!
