Microsoft is bringing Xbox Series X|S exclusives to Xbox One via Cloud Gaming, the company has announced this week.
While the actual number of games exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is still quite slim, the fact that Microsoft is bringing Xbox Series X|S exclusives to Xbox One via Cloud Gaming is noteworthy so users that are still only on Xbox One will still be able to play Series X|S games.
“For the millions of people who play on Xbox One consoles today, we are looking forward to sharing more about how we will bring many of these next-gen games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, to your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, just like we do with mobile devices, tablets, and browsers,” Xbox Wire’s Will Tuttle said a new Wire post.
This would in theory let Xbox One users play upcoming Xbox Series X|S-only games like Starfield and Redfall on their Xbox One console, without needing to buy a Series X|S or a new gaming PC (or upgrading their existing PC).
While Microsoft hasn’t confirmed when they’ll make Xbox Cloud Gaming available on Xbox One consoles, today’s announcement suggests that the service is coming soon.
