Actor sir Michael Gambon has passed away at the age of 82.
Gambon is most commonly known for his role as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and subsequent films in the series. He had replaced Irish actor Richard Harris who played the character in the first two films after he passed in 2002.
Gambon began his career in theater in 1962 in Othello. In 1973 he worked alongside actor Christopher Lee in Nothing But the Night.
According to Gambon’s wife, he passed away peacefully at the hospital “following a bout of pneumonia”.
